Who We Are

QB Energy was formed in 2024 following the acquisition of assets in the Piceance Basin. QB Energy is focused on the acquisition, development, and production of clean-burning, affordable natural gas in the Piceance Basin in Western Colorado.

Operational Excellence

QB Energy operates and develops upstream gathering, compression, processing, and fractionation assets in the Piceance Basin. QB Energy’s operating philosophy and strategy addresses the risks of oil and gas operations while providing our shareholders with significant upside potential. We are focused on creating a sustainable, stable, and scalable operating platform in a volatile industry. QB Energy is committed to Operational Excellence, and Protecting People and the Environment is core to how we operate. Our Operations, Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs go beyond compliance to deliver measurable results and long-term value across every facet of our operations

  • Upstream Assets: Active operator of upstream assets consisting of 417,000 net mineral acres composed primarily of private, federal, and state leasehold
  • Midstream Assets: QB Energy owns significant gas gathering and water infrastructure assets providing critical gathering, compression, treating, water delivery, and water disposal services to QB Energy and 3rd party producers.

EHS Excellence

Health and Safety Excellence:

  • Blackline lone worker protection and gas monitor program is monitored internally 24/7 by the QB Operations Control Center
  • QB Energy implements an in-house Contractor Management Program, custom built to meet operational needs and drive contractor excellence and safety on our locations
  • Routine safety drills and emergency response training are employed across all operations
  • “Stop Work Authority” is a cornerstone of our safety culture, empowering every team member across all QB Energy assets to halt work if they observe unsafe conditions
  • QB Energy partners with communities to develop emergency preparedness plans
  • Trained EHS professionals are on call, and available 24/7 to respond to any Safety or Environmental emergency

Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emission Reduction:

  • Reduced GHG emissions (CO2e) by 48% between 2023 and 2024
  • Zero flaring at well pad facilities and < 0.05% flaring across our entire gas gathering system
  • Methane intensity from operations remains below 0.5%
  • Voluntary fence line monitoring enables rapid detection and response to emissions events
  • Pneumatic device replacement program deployed field-wide to reduce methane emissions
  • Industry-leading air emissions monitoring program utilizing aircraft, satellite, ground-based, and hand-held measurement technologies
  • Members of The Environmental Partnership and OGMP 2.0 – initiatives and reporting framework aimed at enabling operators to share best practices and improve emissions performance while utilizing a comprehensive, measurement-based reporting framework that improves the accuracy and transparency of methane emissions reporting in the oil and gas sector.

Water Quality & Management:

  • In 2024, 91% of water used in completions activity was sourced from recycled produced water
  • Baseline water sampling program deployed across all assets
  • Robust tracking and reporting process for monthly freshwater use, recycling quantities, and Underground Injection Control (UIC) disposal.

Land Stewardship

Land Stewardship:

  • 65,000 acres of QB Energy-owned surface fall within a comprehensive Wildlife Mitigation Plan. Habitat improvement projects are implemented and managed for long-term benefit to the wildlife within the area of our operations
  • Compensatory Mitigation and Wildlife Mitigation Plans are completed for every development project
  • The use of multi-well pads, centralized facilities, and three-phase gathering are designed to reduce the overall footprint of our operations
  • Emphasis on topsoil conservation and stormwater management through all phases of construction and reclamation
